This is gonna take some time

This is gonna take some time.  Will I ever be in the kind of shape that a cross country trip will require? I've done four rides in the last 10 days.  I need to take it slow and not overdo it. I already feel better but I've gained 3 lbs. in the same period of time.  In my youth I was always too thin.  I am more interested in gaining leg strength as I am not serving the tennis ball very well because I'm not pushing up very well. I play tomorrow night a 6pm. Of course if I weighed about 50 lbs less it would help. I want to work up to riding five days a week but other activities will help too.  Lot to do around the place.  It all kinda stacked up but now that I am retired I can tend to it all.  It remains to be seen if the Doc will let me ride across the country but I ride around town. Read this article about my heart issue. I have done some research.  Literature suggest that by limiting my training to 45 minutes a day I can reduce the thickining of the heart wall. My maximum heart rate should be 160 bpm but I have set my heart rate alarm at 130 bpm otherwise I tend to get dizzy and pass out. (See older posts)  I had just about given up on all this but time will see.  Thanks for your support (those of you that asked)

Back at it

Gonna try again... I retired April 3, 2012, one day before my 60th birthday.

We have been very busy travelling and doing family stuff.  Now there is a bit of time to return to the bicycle
